Our Services and charges (non-emergency)

We will come to your home or place of business anywhere in our  service area, day or night, and unlock it for you if you are locked out. If you lose your keys, or an unauthorized person has your keys, we can make you a key from scratch or rekey your locks so that the old keys will no longer work. Included in the cost of rekeying any lock is inspection, cleaning, lubrication and minor repair or adjustment to the lock cylinders, latches and strikes. Broken or worn out components, like pins, springs, clips and latches can often be replaced, which can save you the cost of a new lock.

We stock parts for popular brands of residential door knobs and deadbolts used in our area such as Kwikset and Schlage, and if the lock is not worth attempting repair, we will replace it for you for the price of the new lock.

If you are the owner of a business you pay the same price for labor as a homeowner. However, lock, lock parts and safe requirements are different for businesses than they are for a homeowner. Therefore, businesses may pay more for commercial grade hardware or high security locks and safes. This type of hardware can be required by the Americans with Disabilities Act, municipal, insurance or fire codes; but you will never pay more for standard rekeying or masterkeying charges. We also carry lock cylinders, latches and other parts for the most common commercial locking systems currently in use in our service area including high security/restricted locks and key systems such as ASSA and Medeco.

Our minimum Service Call (Trip charge) is $40.00, plus...

Rekey standard single cylinder (not high security, restricted, IC, SmartKey, etc) - $15.00
Rekey multiple std. cylinders - $8.50 per cylinder with an existing key ($9.50 per cyl. OR MORE if no key available*.)
Rekey Restricted, High Security, Rim devices, etc - $15.00 to $35.00 depending on system.
Masterkey systems - $15.00 to $35.00 per cylinder depending on type of cylinders and locks.
Door, Lock and Car opening charges - $15.00 to $30.00 per door lock or vehicle depending on type of vehicle/locks

*Some locks, like Schlage, Best, etc. and the newer Kwikset SmartKey system require a key to remove the cylinder to rekey the lock. These locks can also be very difficult to pick in a reasonable amount of time, and therefore may have to be drilled and replaced if the keys are lost.

Automobile services

We can service the locks on almost any make and model of car, and we can generate keys for many vehicles when they are lost. However, there are some exceptions. Most luxury vehicles like BMW, Mercedes Benz, Rolls-Royce, and even some lower priced cars like Lexus, etc. are rarely seen in our service area - for a number of reasons, there are no such dealerships here, the nearest dealerships are at least 100 miles away in Las Vegas - and the tools and equipment to service these vehicles are prohibitively expensive for many small businesses, especially in these rural areas. Many of these vehicles, as is the case with Mercedes-Benz, have locks that were designed to be replaced and therefore cannot be serviced. So we cannot service all makes and models of cars, but we do service just about every "regular" car made since the 1930's. Many newer cars also have transponder (RFID Technology) systems that require special keys and equipment for programming. The programming equipment for the new vehicle transponder systems can cost as much as $8,000 up front and several thousand dollars a year for software updates, and that's just for American and Japanese cars. European transponder equipment can cost even more. Currently, most GM and some early Ford transponder vehicles are field programmable without this expensive equipment. We can tell you over the phone or via email if your vehicle requires the special transponder programming equipment to duplicate and/or generate new keys for your vehicle. If we cannot service your car, we have relationships with several entities in the area that have transponder programming equipment and we can point you in the right direction.

Padlocks

Here at Advanced Lock & Safe we also make keys for padlocks, rekey them if they are rekeyable; and we sell a wide variety of padlocks, hasps and chains including Master, American, Almont, Abus, Medeco and others. Some of these locks can be fitted to your home or office keys with the use of special interchangeable cylinders. We can provide you with restricted and high security locks and cylinders for these locks as well if your situation warrants it.

Safes & Vaults

We sell, install, service, open, repair and change combinations or electronic codes on almost any safe or vault made. That includes Wall, Floor, Fire, Pistol/Rifle and Burglary rated containers. If you forget your safe combination, often times we can obtain the factory combination or override and save you the cost of an expensive opening procedure. In our home area we do the warranty work for several safe and lock manufacturers such as Amsec, Liberty, LaGard, ect.
